🌍✈️ Embracing the World: My Unconventional Journey

Hey there, fellow wanderers and free spirits! 🌟

I’ve always dreamed of circling the globe, soaking up the creative marvels that this world has to offer. Well, guess what? These past six months, I’ve grabbed that dream by the horns and made it my reality!

I’ve hopped across the globe, hitting iconic spots like Tokyo, Seoul, London, Paris, and numerous gems in Spain and Portugal. 🌏 And let me tell you, it’s been a whirlwind of adventures and unexpected encounters.

Amidst my globetrotting escapades, there’s one city that’s always resonated with me, vibrating with peaceful and creative vibes. There, I had the most unlikely reunion with my teenage love- a story I’ve contemplated sharing for a hot minute.

But before I spill the beans, picture this: I’m in sunny Spain, minding my own business, casually watching a news story about Shakira when, out of nowhere, his surname flashes across the screen as part of a breaking news alert.

The scream I let out when I finally deciphered the screenshot I’d taken:

“A DANGEROUS SPIDER HAS wreaked havoc on a food market that has had to close its doors. The poisoning of the arachnid causes long-lasting and painful erections that can end with the death of the victim immediately.” 😱

Now, back to my story Lol!

Along this incredible journey, I’ve crossed paths with kindred souls who share my nomadic spirit. Shout-out to my dear friend Kandace, who generously opened her home for a couple of weeks, resulting in endless laughter and shenanigans. 🏡😂

And speaking of shenanigans, let me tell you about my fellow Military Space A and Category VI travelers, Orlando and Romeo along with his wife and daughter, who made the quest for flights back home from Japan feel like the wild ride that it was, but we all made it back to our homes safely! ✈️✨

In Rota, Spain, I stumbled upon a real-life hero in the form of Navy Seabee Brian, who rescued me from the scorching sun when I was stranded at Rec ITT and beat down by the heat driven by a not-so-subtle breeze from Africa that damn near took me out🌬️🚕

Here’s the kicker: I’ve realized I’m in the third quarter of life. Time’s flying by, and I refuse to waste a single moment!

I don’t let fear dictate my travels and shake off anyone trying to project theirs onto me. Sure, I stay vigilant - a skill I’ve honed since forever - and my American accent is a double-edged sword overseas.

But let’s talk about the real deal: the pull to explore this world outweighs any anxieties. 🌍

Recently, in Europe, I stumbled upon a post about Seoul, and I couldn’t believe it. Random stabbing attacks?‼️I’d been there just weeks ago! 😲

Sure, some past incidents made me a tad cautious. The London Bridge and terrorist attacks in France had me second-guessing, but I conquered those fears one step at a time.

The crowds in every city have spiked my social anxiety, but I power through. These are bucket-list items, after all! I’m forever grateful for these in-person experiences. 🙏🏾

As I fine-tune my travel plans for the rest of the year, I pause to cherish the fond memories and express gratitude for the life I’ve crafted. 🗺️✨

Stay tuned, fellow explorers, for more adventures and stories to come. Let’s keep embracing the world together!
