What a Year! Hello Spring, Hello April:)

A Year into this global pandemic, we’re still here. There’s light at the end of the tunnel, we just need to stay the course.

This time of season can be tricky. Add our current events to the mix, it’s easy to forget about the blessings. I did my fair share of doom scrolling and being frustrated. Now I’m back to beginning my day full of gratitude and a resolve to enjoy the moments as they unfold. Tomorrow truly isn’t a guarantee, I’m happiest when I’m living in the present, and ok when lofty plans simply don’t pan out. 

I’ve always had a strong sense of self, but I really yearned to know where my ancestors walked on the continent of Africa. I’ve often felt indebted to them for the opportunities I had thanks to their sacrifice. It’s all coming full circle. I’ve learned my family has ties to the Tikar people of Cameroon! 🇨🇲 

I recently went on a mini-sabbatical, taking my first flights of the year to one of my favorite places.💜 A few days into my trip, I came down with a case of camera fatigue!

We’ve made the turn into Fall season &

I truly hope the temperature continues to match the calendar, which officially transitions next week.

It’s my favorite time of year and I’m SO looking forward to Fall Season!

Transitioning out of one’s comfort zone can be tough. But it’s a necessary evil for me to live the life I want to live, on my own terms, my own way. I’m still pivoting towards this, and in the midst of designing a life of love, that I love. It’s not as hard as it may seem. One just has to take the first step, which is often the hardest….

This Month, more so than other years, is a super pivotal one. It’s a month full of birthdays for friends & family. Also, in years past, it USED to signal the change of seasons, with the occasional last gasp of summer sprinkled in, aka Indian summer. It’s a month of reflection and it’s also a call to action to push forward for accomplishing goals, and living life to its’ fullest.

My day yesterday was filled with highs and lows. I’d been a ball of emotion of late. On one hand, life has been GREAT on a personal note. The continued social injustice and ensuing unrest , on the other hand, have been nothing short of heartbreaking! If I could impart any advice, it would be to check on your friends and loved ones. During these trying times, it’s understandable that one may have a “moment” from time to time. Don’t hesitate to reach out. Showing that you care can go along way.

We live in a time where the norm has been disrupted and status quo turned on its ear. Every aspect of our lives have been disrupted. Many of us have had to pivot and go out on faith. It can be scary! All won’t be onboard and that’s ok. Just Pivot & Breathe. We’re all in this together.

August is upon us. It’s been a blur and it’s been one heck of a year hasn’t it?!

Sometimes you simply outgrow people, things, or situations.

When you follow your heart, your decision doesn’t have to make sense to everyone; it just has to make sense to you.

Pulled the plug on Facebook and the impact has been SO freeing and POSITIVE. It’s the ULTIMATE act of #selfcare
